Introduction

I threw this together from what I had in my pantry at the time. With proper planning, I'd use fat-free soup and sour cream. It is delicious as-is, but fat could certainly stand to be cut.

You can put the chicken into the slow cooker while still frozen, so prep time is virtually non-existent! A great choice to throw in before bed for lunch at work or in the morning for that night's dinner.

This recipe calls for two pounds of chicken, also because it was what I had available (three large breasts), but would make a great meal with just one pound, too.

I served this along with brown rice and black beans. Tasty!

This was a really good recipe; it smells great cooking throughout the day. Instead of onion soup mix, I added McCormick's Taco Seasoning. It makes it nice and spicy. I also added black beans, yum! - 1/24/10

This was soooo delicious. Like others, I used taco seasoning and rotel for the added spice. My husband loved it. I had it on brown rice. He had it on tostitos, as the meat for tacos and on brown rice. This is going to be a regular item in our house. - 4/18/12

It needs some spicing up, a little cumin, chili powder, adobo, maybe a can of drained Rotel. - 2/1/10

I made this with the meat I removed from a whole roasted chicken, so my meat was already cooked. Instead of cooking it all day, I threw it all together in a casserole and added pasta. I have two teen-aged boys who loved it (hence the pasta). You just have to watch your serving size if you do add - 2/13/13

I loved this dish. Instead of onion soup mix I sliced and browned a Vadalia onion in a little olive oil and added minced garlic as I was browning. I cooked on high for a while to get the chicken thawed and then turned down to low. Since I was a to work for 10 hours it slow cooked a long time. - 6/9/11

This was super easy to make! I let it cool, separated it out and froze it in individual servings in snack bags. For a quick lunch I take a whole wheat tortialla (taco size), put in the filling & nuke. Add FF lettuce, tomatoes, onions, FF sour cream, etc. and I have a meal - 3/4/11

LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS! So easy and the chicken literally falls apart! I followed the advice of other reviewers and used a can of drained rotel. I served with brown rice, a little cheese, and put in whole wheat tortillas, but I actually like it better without the tortilla...just mixed with rice! - 1/8/11

I made this meal for myself so that I could freeze some and continue to have some through out the week. It came out great. I also added a few other ingredients. They were 2 eckeridge farm smoked sausage links, a can of cream of mushroom soup and a can of corn - 1/30/10

Made with thighs, drained can of rotel added. Is there enough liquid because it really looks thick as I start the cooking time. Will eat over brown rice. Can't wait for it to finish cooking. - 2/16/15

I have made this recipe twice and my family loves it - served once over egg noodles and the next over brown rice; and served leftovers over toast. It is also a great tortilla chip dip. I have also given out the recipe and received rave reviews from those who have made it! YUMMY! - 3/21/13

It was very very very bland.....tasted like cream of chicken soup with a just a little more spice; I even added Taco Seasoning later one and let it simmer more, and just couldn't get it taste any better. The chicken cooked great though, was very tender, easy to shred but just couldn't get flavored. - 9/9/12

I made this with low-fat cream of chicken soup and light sour cream. It turned out great. My husband and kids really enjoyed it. Stuck it in a flour tortilla and threw a little pico de gallo and shredded cheddar on it. Yummy! - 3/6/10
