Introduction
A guilty indulgence - This is a very thick, creamy dish. The servings here are large, main entre portions, but they'd be delicious and maybe a little less guilty if they were cut down and served as side dish portions. Ingredients
-
1 box pasta
4 Tbsp olive oil
4 Tbsp Butter
4 cloves of garlic (optional)
2 large eggs
1 pint heavy whipping cream (divided)
1 tsp dried basil
1 tsp dried oregano
Directions
Cook pasta according to the box's instructions and keep warm.
Melt the olive oil and butter in a large sauce pan over medium heat until hot. Turn heat down to med-low
Add garlic and cook on Med-low until tender.
In a bowl, mix the eggs and only 1 cup of heavy whipping cream. Pour the mixture into the sauce pan and turn up the head to medium.
When the mixture is steaming, add asiago and parmesean cheeses, slowly, whisking the mixture so the cheeses can melt. DO NOT allow this mixture to boil. You may need to reduce heat to avoid this.
Add the remaining cream as needed to thin the sauce as it heats.
Pour sauce over pasta and sprinkle with basil and oregano.
