Introduction

This easy slow cooker filler is a set-it-and-forget-it first step to delicious quesadillas. This easy slow cooker filler is a set-it-and-forget-it first step to delicious quesadillas.
Number of Servings: 12

Ingredients

1.5 to 2 pound package of boneless, skinless chicken breast
    5 oz medium salsa
    1 cup water
1 packet of McCormick chicken taco seasoning mix

Directions

Rinse chicken breast and trim excess fat. Place chicken breasts in a slow cooker, cover with salsa and 1/2 cup water and cook on low for 4 hours.

After the chicken has cooked to the point of where you can shred it, use a fork to separate the breasts into smaller pieces, add the seasoning packet and the remaining 1/2 cup of water. Blend well and cook for additional 4 hours (or until the juices have been absorbed).

My family does not like things spicy, so this has just enough taste without the heat. Spicier salsa and other additives may be used for extra punch.

**Do not add salt** The seasoning blend has salt built in.
