Introduction

Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

    4 Cups fresh or frozen green beans
    4 cups whole fresh mushrooms, sliced
    1/2 cup white wine
    1/2 cup chicken broth
    1/2 cup water
    2 T flour
    2 cloves garlic, crushed
    1 medium yellow onion, chopped
    3 T olive oil
    French Fried Onions or Italian seasoned bread crumbs
    1/4 cup half n half

Directions

Spray 2 quart casserole with oil spray or rub lightly with oil. Place frozen beans, or fresh bean that have been blanched, into the casserole dish and set aside.

Heat saute pan on medium temperature and add olive oil. Add onions and stir until they start to soften. Add garlic and mushrooms. Stir lightly until mushrooms start to brown and become tender.

Turn heat off and add flour. Stir to coat mushrooms. Add half and half. Stir to create sauce. Add white wine and stir until sauce is slightly thickened.

Pour mushroom sauce over beans. If not cooking until next day, cover dish and refridgerate. You will add the french fried onions or italian seasoned bread crumbs right before cooking..

when ready to cook, preheat oven to 325. Top casserole with french fried onions or italian seasoned bread crumbs to cover.
Bake for 35 minutes.
