Introduction

I needed to determine the calorie values of a quiche I received in my CSA package. This is sort of a combination of several recipes that makes the most sense for proper ingredients. I needed to determine the calorie values of a quiche I received in my CSA package. This is sort of a combination of several recipes that makes the most sense for proper ingredients.
Number of Servings: 6

Ingredients

    1 uncooked pie crust (9-inch)
    2 tbsp butter, salted
    1 large onion, sliced thin
    3 large eggs
    1 cup heavy cream
    2 cups Swiss cheese, shredded
    salt & pepper to taste

Directions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Melt butter in a 10-inch saute pan. Add sliced onions and cook until carmelized. Place onions into pie crust. In a medium bowl, scramble eggs with cream. Season with salt and pepper. Pour egg mixutre over onions in pie crust. Sprinkle with cheese. Bake, uncovered, for 10 minutes at 400 degrees. Reduce heat to 325 degrees and bake 30-35 minutes longer or until a knife, inserted into the center, comes out clean. Makes 6 servings.
