Introduction

Number of Servings: 12

Ingredients

    1 - 1.5 cups elbow macaroni
    1/4 cup margarine or butter
    1 small onion, chopped
    1/2 tsp salt
    1/4 tsp pepper
    1/4 cup all-purpose flour
    1-3/4 cup milk
    8 oz. Velveeta cheese

Directions

1. Cook macaroni as directed on the package
2. Cook & stir margarine, onion, salt & pepper over medium heat until onion is slightly tender.
3. Stir in flour.
4. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until mixture is smooth and bubbly; remove from heat.
5. Stir in milk.
6. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Boil and stir 1 minute; remove from heat.
7. Stir in cheese until melted (it helps to cut it up and then add it).
8. Place macaroni in un-greased 1/2 qt. casserole dish.
9. Stir cheese into macaroni
10. Sprinkle the top with bread crumbs (optional)
11. Bake uncovered in 375 degree oven for 30 minutes.

Makes about 12 servings.
