Introduction

Number of Servings: 12

Ingredients

    2 15.5 oz. bag of Lentils
    6 cups of Low-Sodium V8
    12 cups of water
    2 cups diced ham
    1.5 cups finely diced carrots
    1.5 cups finely diced celery
    1 large onion finely diced
    OR
    1/4 cup minced onion, dehydrated

    4 bayleaves
    1 Tbls. dried basil
    dash of pepper
    1 tsp. of Tone's pizza seasoning

Directions

1. Dice ham ( with all visible fat removed) and vegetables finely, or size to suit taste.

2. Rinse lentils in a colander.

3. Add all ingredients to 8-12 qt. pot; stir well.

4. Simmer over low heat for approximately 2 hours, stirring occasionally. It will cook down and thicken.

Makes about 12 servings, 2-cups each
