Ingredients

1 lb. stew beef (Up to 1.5 lbs.)
1 Tbsp. butter (Up to 2 Tbsp.)
    1 tsp. ground cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. Aleppo pepper
    1 cup water
    1 small can tomato paste*
2 lb. green beans: fresh trimmed, frozen whole or frozen cut

Directions

Cut meat into bite-size pieces. Sauté meat in butter or margarine over medium-high heat until browned. Add tomato paste, cinnamon, Aleppo pepper, and water. Simmer over low heat for 1 1/2 - 2 hours. Add green beans simmer another 20 minutes or until tender.

Makes four generous servings as a main dish. Serve with bulgur pilaf. Top each serving with a little yogurt if desired.

*Can substitute one 1 lb. can tomatoes for tomato paste and water.

If you cannot obtain Aleppo pepper (available at Middle Eastern stores) paprika with a dash of cayenne makes a good substitute.
