Ingredients

    1c Flour
    1/2 cup Whole Wheat Flour
    1 tsp Baking Powder
    1 tsp Baking Soda
    1/2 cup Brown Sugar or Sucanat
    1/4 cup sugar
    3 Bananas, mashed
    2 tbsp unsweetened applesauce
    3 tbsp butter

    1 Egg
    2 tbsp flour
    2tbsp chopped Almonds
    1/4 c Brown Sugar or Sucanat
    1 tbsp Butter

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 190C/ 375 F
2. Mix dry ingredients (except cinnamon and 1/3 cup sucanat) in one bowl, and wet ingredients (including mashed bananas, but not including 1 tbsp butter) in another. Fold together just until combined (don't over-mix). Pour into 12 oiled or lined muffin cups.
3. TOPPING: In another bowl, mix remaining 1/3 cup sucanat (or dark brown sugar) with remaining 1 tsbp butter, chopped almonds, and cinnamon. Crumble as a topping over muffins.
4. Bake 18-20 minutes.
