Ingredients

    1 1/2 c basmati or jasmine rice rinsed
    2 1/2 c water
    1 1" chunk of ginger root peeled and poked with a skewer to release juices
    5 scallions thinly sliced white and green
    5T cilantro minced
    2 T white or black sesame seeds toasted.


Directions

Place rice in a sauce pan with tight fitting lid, push the chunk of ginger into the center, bring to boil then reduce heat to low and let simmer 18-20 minutes or until light and fluffy.
Meanwhile, cook green onions in oil just until soft
place rice in serving dish, mix in cilantro and sesame seeds , cover with sauteed onions and serve.
