Ingredients

2 lbs. fresh green beans, washed & trimmed (yields about 8 C cooked)
1/2 small onion quartered
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
8 TBSP (1 stick) Land O' Lakes Light Butter, divided
1 C sliced almonds, toasted
Juice of 1 lemon
3 strips Gwaltney reduced fat bacon, cooked and crumbled
Directions
Steam green beans and onion until tender. Add salt and pepper. Drain and set aside in a large baking dish. Melt 1/2 stick butter over low heat and pour over green beans. Stir well. Sprinkle crumbled bacon over top. Meanwhile simmer remaining 1/2 stick butter and lemon juice over low heat in a small pan until melted and lightly browned. Toast almonds in 350 degree oven. Toss almonds in lemon butter and pour over green beans. Serve warm.
Note: If making ahead of time. Cook green beans, add butter and bacon and refrigerate until ready to reheat.Store lemon butter almond mixture in small container.. Pour lemon butter almond mixture over green beans and bake in 350 degree oven until warm.
This is also delicious without the bacon.
