Ingredients

1 1/2 lbs. ground lean beef
    6 diced potatoes
    1 dash Worcestershire sauce
    1 tbsp Onion powder
    1 tsp Garlic powder
    1 tsp Oregano
    1/2 tsp Marjoram
    1/2 tsp Thyme
    1/4 tsp bay leaf
    Sprinkle of salt

Directions

In large pot brown the ground beef (stir frequently). When fully brown add water, Worcestershire sauce, Onion powder, Garlic powder, Oregano, Marjoram, bay leaf and Thyme . Let simmer 1 hour. Stir in the potatoes and simmer slowly with lid on the pot for an additional hour or so until potatoes soft.

If stew needs thickening, just add 1 cup water that has 1/4 cup flour dissolved and let simmer an additional 20 minutes continue until the desired stew-like consistency. (Usually no more than 2-3 times is needed.)

When desired consistancy is achieved, serve on bread.

Serve a green vegetable with the stew or a salad for a complete meal.

How much original water is used? I see the thickening says use 1 cup to 1/4 flour, but the original water amount is missing. - 8/9/09
