2.5 servings Johnsonville Vermont Maple Syrup Breakfast Sausage (7.5 sausages)
1/4 cup sweet onions, diced
6 large eggs
1 cup mushrooms, chopped
1/2 cup half and half
1/4 cup sour cream
1 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 400.
2. Cook the sausage, mushrooms, and onion in a skillet over medium heat until the sausage has browned, about 10 minutes. Drain excess grease from the skillet. Transfer to a deep dish pie plate. In a medium bowl whisk together the eggs, half and half cream, sour cream, salt, and pepper. Sprinkle the sausage, mushroom and onion mixture with 1 cup of the Cheddar cheese, then pour the egg mixture over top.
3 Bake in the preheated oven about 18 minutes or until a knife inserted into the center comes out clean, Sprinkle with the remaining Cheddar cheese. Return to the oven until the cheese has melted. Cut into 6 wedges to serve.
