Introduction

I really have been craving custard since my surgery. Sweetening with sucralose gives me a sweet custard that is also a pretty good source of protein. I really have been craving custard since my surgery. Sweetening with sucralose gives me a sweet custard that is also a pretty good source of protein.

Ingredients

    1 cup skim milk
    1 large egg
    2 pkts Splenda
    1/4 tsp vanilla extract
    dash of nutmeg

Tips

I prefer my custard to not be overly sweet. Other recipes I have seen have suggested 3 packets of Splenda. You will need to taste to see how much you prefer.

Directions

Heat milk for 2 minutes on HIGH in a 2-cup measure. Beat egg in a small bowl. Temper egg by adding hot milk by the tbsp until warmed, then mix with milk and Splenda. Divide between 2 1-cup microwave-safe bowls. Sprinkle with nutmeg. Heat on LOW for 5-7 minutes until bubbles form. Allow to sit in microwave 5 minutes to set. Serve either warm or refrigerate to cool.

    Incredible!
This is awesome. I'm doing low carb so substituted heavy cream for skim milk and it was delicious. Thank you. - 10/8/18
