Introduction
I really have been craving custard since my surgery. Sweetening with sucralose gives me a sweet custard that is also a pretty good source of protein. Ingredients
-
1 cup skim milk
1 large egg
2 pkts Splenda
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
dash of nutmeg
Tips
I prefer my custard to not be overly sweet. Other recipes I have seen have suggested 3 packets of Splenda. You will need to taste to see how much you prefer.
Directions
Heat milk for 2 minutes on HIGH in a 2-cup measure. Beat egg in a small bowl. Temper egg by adding hot milk by the tbsp until warmed, then mix with milk and Splenda. Divide between 2 1-cup microwave-safe bowls. Sprinkle with nutmeg. Heat on LOW for 5-7 minutes until bubbles form. Allow to sit in microwave 5 minutes to set. Serve either warm or refrigerate to cool.
