Ingredients

    8 oz bag 15 bean soup mix - soak or quick soak
    1 pound cooked bacon - chopped
    8 oz. soup bone
    1 tsp. Rosemary
    1 onion - chopped
    1 garlic cloves - minced
    1 T. chili powder
    1 T. crushed red pepper
    12 cups water
    29 oz. can Great Value Tomato Puree

Tips

You can add peas, carrots, or any other vegetables that you prefer. Adjust calorie count according to additions.
Great Value tomato products have very low sodium compared to other similar products.


Directions

Simmer the soup bone in 1 cup water with pepper, rosemary, and onion. Prepare bean according to quick cook directions - bring water to boiling, add beans, and simmer covered for about 1 hour. Bean and meat will be ready at the same time. Cook and chop bacon. Add all ingredients to either a large soup pot for stovetop cooking or crockpot. Cook until the beans are tender. The longer the soup cooks the more intense the flavor. Add seasonings to suit your taste.
