Introduction

Great smoothie for breakfast or a snack. Each serving of smoothie gives you about 4 servings of fruit. Great substitute for the smoothies you can get at fast food places that are filled with sugar and fat. I buy the fruit in the summer when it's less expensive, cube it, and freeze it to have during the winter months. Make sure to thaw the fruit, at least most of the way, before blending or it can clog the blender. Great smoothie for breakfast or a snack. Ingredients

    1 (6 oz) container of light yogurt - I use Breyer's light
    1 cup orange juice
    1 cup pinapple - cubed
    1 cup papaya - cubed
    1 cup cantaloupe - cubed
    1 medium banana

Directions

Place all ingredients into blender and blend until smooth. If you are using fresh fruit, you may want to add a few ice cubes (4-5) to help thicken it up a little. If you are using frozen fruit, you may not need the ice.

The 20 minutes prep time is for cutting fruit. If you are using pre-cut fruit, the prep time goes down to about 2 minutes.

Makes 4 8-ounce servings

Smart guy Tim, I also buy fruit when it's cheap, cop it into smaller chunks, put in smaller sandwich size bags, & toss in the freezer for later when they aren't so inexpensive or available - 3/27/12
