Ingredients

4 cups whole wheat flour
3/4 cup granular splenda for baking
1 cup applesauce
3/4 cup molasses
2 cups hot water
3 teaspoons baking soda
2 teaspoons cinammon
1.5 tsp ground ginger
cooking oil spray

Directions
Preheat oven to 375. Spray a large baking pan with cooking oil and set aside.
Combine flour, splenda, cinammon and applesauce and work to form crumbs. Set aside 1 cup of crumb mixture for the topping. Dissolve the baking soda in the hot water, mix in the molasses, Then combine with the crumb mixture, mixing well. Add to sprayed pan, top with the saved cup of crumb mixture and bake at 375 for 10 minutes. Reduce the heat to 350 and bake for 30-40 minutes more until toothpick in middle comes out dry.
Serving Size: makes 12 4 inch pieces
