Cassoulet in a Flash
*Ekrich Turkey Smoked Sausage, 12 oz
Onions, raw, 1 medium (2-1/2" dia)
Garlic, 1 clove
Bean, Pork and Beans, Van Camp, 4 cup
Beans, white, 4 cup
Salt, 1 tsp
Granulated Sugar, 1 tsp
Thyme, fresh, 1 tsp
Pepper, black, .25 tsp
This is a recipe that I found in Family Circle magazine quite some time ago. My family loves it. The original recipe called for regular beef sausage and only 1 can each of the beans and made only 4 servings. By adding the additional two cans of beans and switching to turkey sausage, I was able to get 4 more servings with a calorie savings of about 200 calories per serving. You could make larger serving sizes for the same 547 calories that the original recipe came to. More bang for your buck!
