Introduction

A berry based smoothie A berry based smoothie
Number of Servings: 2

Ingredients

    1 medium Apple (core removed)
    1 cup Strawberries (fresh)
    1 cup Blueberries (fresh)
    1/2 Orange (seeded and peeled)
    1 T Flax Seed
    1 T Honey
    1 T Barlean's Omega Swirl Oil (or any Omega-3 oil)
    1 cup Water
    1 cup Ice
    1 stalk Kale (optional)

Tips

To make any smoothie, you can pre-packge your own blend of fruits and store in fridge for 3-4 days. If you use frozen fruit, do not add extra ice.


Directions

Core apple (leave skin on for additional fiber)
Wash and measure strawberries and blueberries (okay to keep strawberry greens if greens are not wilted--is som remove greens)
Peel 1/2 orange

In high speed blender:
Add berries, orange, and apple (in that order)
Add other ingredients
Blend until desired texture is obtained

Serving Size: Makes 3 8 ounce servings
