    Incredible!
LOVE IT! Bread turned out PERFECT. Although I layered according to my bread machine directions, as follows:
    Water
    Flour
    Sugar
    Salt
Butter (cut into 4 pieces, placed each piece in corner of pan)
    Yeast
I've heard many bad stories about wheat, and I'm thrilled to have "my recipe" on my 1st try!

This bread TASTES great, but mine came out all crumbly-weird, too--it looked like monkey bread, not a loaf! I think I want to give it another shot, though. Second shot: still a funky shape, but more bread-like. Tasty, but I think I'll try other recipes before coming back again. - 8/15/10

    Bad
I must have had my water too hot or something. The bread ended up in crumbs. - 4/17/08

hhhmm, I wonder what happened there? I use fairly hot water from the tap and just throw the ingredients in order. Never had a problem Sorry to hear your's didn't turn out. :(

Since this is a source of insoluble fiber (as is flaxseed meal), why not also substitute 1/4 to 1/2 C. barley or oat flour for same portion of whole wheat flour? Barley and oats are each soluble fibers.Intestinal gas reactions are effectively avoided when soluble fiber is eaten along with insoluble. - 4/17/08
