Introduction

I like the flavor of ham, so I used home-made broth from a ham bone. I like the flavor of ham, so I used home-made broth from a ham bone.
Number of Servings: 4

Ingredients

    1 qt water and 1 qt broth (I used all ham broth)
    2 cups dry split peas (yellow and green)
    1/2 cup onions, chopped
    2 raw carrots, chopped
    2 stalks organic celery,chopped
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    1 tbsp. Spike, no salt seasoning
    1/4 cup fresh dill

Tips

I think calories is calories for the whole batch! I tried to change that and could not.

I used broth from a ham bone and pre-cooked split peas/veggies so the final soup only had to be heated.
Fat was removed from the broth by cooling the broth.
Also, I doubled the recipe to have some for freezing.


Directions

Place all ingredients in a crockpot and cook on low for 6 hours and then turn to high for 3 hours.
