Number of Servings: 140

Ingredients

This is for a large batch that can be frozen:
2 lbs ground beef 97% lean
1 lb Napa Cabbage finely chopped
    100 grams chopped green onions
    120 grams finely grated carrots
    crushed garlic, soy sauce, ginger
    3 packages (approx 48 count) Won-Ton Wrappers

Tips

The original recipe calls for deep frying, but I enjoy them very much baked or boiled. To freeze, layer filled dumplings on a baking sheet and freeze until solid, then put in Zip lock freezer bags. Add some to broth for a quick soup.

Directions

Mix all ingredients except for Won Ton Wrappers thoroughly. Season with plenty of freshly crushed garlic, soy sauce and ginger. Fill Won Ton Wrappers with one heaping teaspoon of filling each (approx 12 grams). Fold into triangles, brushing with some water to seal edges. Fold long corners and squeeze together again to create a pouch.
These can be boiled in some chicken broth for Won Ton soup or baked. To bake spray a baking sheet with non stick spray, lay single layer of Won Tons on sheet, spray with more cooking spray and bake at 350 until golden brown.

Serving Size: one Won-Ton

    Very Good
This was my first time making wontons and wasn't sure how baking them would turn out. They were very good and I liked the veggies in them. I cut the recipe into 1/4 and it worked out well. Not quite the same texture of fried, but well worth the saved fat and calories. - 3/8/14
