Ingredients

4 1/2 Cups Dry Whole Wheat Penne Pasta
1 lbs extra lean ground beef
6 tsp minced garlic
1 26 1/2 oz can traditional spaghetti sauce
1 lbs mozzarrella cheese (part skim)
15 oz ricotta cheese
1 large egg
2 tbs dried parsley
Directions
Makes 8 servings (cut pan into 8 even pieces before serving)
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Boil water and add the Penne pasta. Meanwhile, brown the ground beef with the minced garlic, drain any excess fat off (if you use extra lean beef, this may not be necessary). Add the spaghetti sauce to the browned meat and stir. Grate the mozzarrela cheese. In a medium sized mixing bowl mix the ricotta, egg and parsley.
Drain the pasta and return to the pan. Pour the sauce mixture over the pasta and stir.
Once all the ingredients are prepared layer them in a 9x13 baking pan in the following order.
Pasta/Sauce mixture
Ricotta cheese mixture
Mozzarrella cheese
Place in oven and bake until the cheese starts to brown and bubble.
