Ingredients

    8 oz. whole wheat extra wide pasta or rottini
    3 cups chopped onion
    1/2 lb. fresh mushrooms, sliced
    1/2 cup chopped red or green pepper
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    1/4 cup butter
    1 lb. imitation crab meat, chopped
    1/2 cup sour cream
    2 tsp. salt or to taste
    1 1/2 tsp. dried basil
    1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Directions

Cook pasta according to package directions. Meanwhile, in a skillet, saute onions, mushrooms, pepper and garlic in butter until crisp-tender. Remove from ;heat. Drain pasta; add to vegetable mixture. Stir in the crab, sourcream, salt and basil. Transfer to a greased 9x13 pan. Sprinkle with cheese. Cover and bake at 350 for 20 minutes. Uncover and bake 5 minutes longer. Yield: 10 1 cup servings.

    I tried this recipe and added a slice of cheese to each serving when I ate it. Next time I will cut it in halve because no one but me would try it. It was very good. I didn't have fresh mushrooms so I used canned ones. - 11/1/09
