Introduction

My mother always made this for my birthday. I've kept the serving size small here to save calories, but still be able to taste my favorite treat. Most of the calories come from the pudding and the cake part, so cut down on those to save. The traditional English version involves alcohol, but I've always liked this one better. Ingredients

    Strawberries, fresh, 1 cup chopped
Cool Whip lite whipped topping, 4 TBS
Jell-o fat free pudding, vanilla, 100 grams
Angelfood cake, 1 slice (1/12 of 10" dia)

Directions

Divide each ingredient into four equal parts:
(0.25 cup strawberries, 1 TBS Cool Whip, 25 grams pudding, 0.25 of cake slice)

Take the 1/4 piece of angelfood cake and tear it into small pieces and put it into a desert glass (clear is best, to show the layers). Put the 1/4 portion of vanilla pudding on top, then the 1/4 cup of chopped strawberries and spread 1 TBS of Cool Whip over that. Repeat this process three times, until you've used up all the parts. Save some chopped strawberries to sprinkle on the top.

Also you could make this with sugar free/fat free pudding and sugar free cake and it would take the calories down a lot. - 5/25/09
