Introduction

Ingredients

    1.5 cup Lentils, cooked
    0.25 serving Brown rice (1 cup cooked)
    4 leaf, medium Cabbage, fresh
    14 gram(s) 100% iso Protein whey protein isolate North Coast Naturals unflavoured (by AUSSIEITGIRL)
    0.5 cup, chopped Onions, raw
    0.5 cup, chopped Carrots, raw
    1 cup Kitchen Basic Vegetable Stock (by IAMDIOSA)
    0.5 cup Canned Tomatoes
    4 tbsp Tillamook Lite Sour Cream
    0.5 cup, pieces or slices Mushrooms, fresh
    1/4 cup parsley or dehydrated spinach
    crushed garlic
    spices: cumin, paprika, salt, pepper to taste
    Water as required

Tips

Recipe makes 4 large balls or 8 smaller balls.


Directions

Boil cabbage leaves until soft and pliable. Allow to cool and remove core/stalks.
Combine canned tomatoes, stock and sour cream - set aside.
Fry onion and mushrooms in garlic. Mix into all other dry ingredients and mash well. Season to taste.
Form rough balls from 1/4 mixture and roll up into cabbage leaves. Put half sauce into pan, baking dish or slow cooker and place rolls on top....they should be packed in tightly to avoid unrolling. Cover with remaining sauce. Cook until cabbage is completely soft but not falling apart (anything from 1 to 3 hours). Add water and seasoning as necessary to keep sauce level up.
