Ingredients
-
Tempeh-Three Grain, 8 oz
Tempeh-Flax, 8 oz
Maple Syrup, 3 tbsp
rice vinegar, seasoned, 3 tbsp
Trader Joes Toasted Sesame Oil, 2 tbsp
Garlic, 18 cloves
Ginger Root, 9 tsp
White Wine, 4 fl oz
Soy sauce (tamari), 8 tbsp
Serrano Peppers, .33 pepper
Directions
Chop up the tempeh into small pieces (smaller than 1/2 inch cubes). Mix liquid ingredients together, chop the garlic and ginger root finely and the pepper very finely and mix them into the liquid blend. Put the tempeh in a large ceramic or glass bowl, pour the marinade mixture over the tempey and blend well. Then tamp the tempeh pieces down so that they are all covered with the liquid. Cover bowl with a plate and set set at least an hour - longer is better. To use in Stir Fry - drain to separate the tempeh from the liquid. Cook the tempeh pieces along with various vegetables and near the end of cooking add the marinade to the pan so that the ginger, garlic, and peppers will cook and the liquid will reduce a bit. Serve over brown rice. Remember to add the calories etc for whatever vegetables you use.
