Something a little different if you are tired of that same old macaroni and cheese out of the box! Something a little different if you are tired of that same old macaroni and cheese out of the box!
Number of Servings: 12


    2 c. macaroni (cooked alomost soft)

    4 tbsp. butter/margarine
    4 tbsp. flour
    4 c. milk
    16 cheese slices (broken into pieces)

    4 cheese clices ( broken into pieces)
    20 saltine crackers (crushed)


1. For the sauce, melt the 4 tbsp. of butter over medium-heat. Add the flour to make a paste. Slowly add the 4 cups of milk to the mixture and continue to cook over medium heat until mixture begins to thicken like pudding (about 15 minutes).
2. Remove from heat and add the 16 slices of cheese and mix until cheese is almost melted. Add salt and pepper to taste.
3. Mix the cooked macaroni and cheese sauce together and put into an 11x13 butter greased glass pan.
4. Sprinkle the 4 slices of cheese for topping on top of the mixture and then sprinkle the 20 saltine crackers on top of that.
5. Bake at 350 for about 20 minutes or until mixture begins to bubble around the edges.
