Introduction

Ingredients

    1 bag Boar's Head sauerkraut (30 tablespoons)
    1 large sweet onion, halved and sliced
    2 garlic cloves, minced (optional)
    1 tablespoon unsalted butter
    Salt and pepper to taste
    1 cup Kitchen Basics Chicken Stock
    Nonstick spray for pan

Directions

Drain but don't rinse the sauerkraut.

Spray large skillet (cast iron preferred) over medium high heat. Add sliced onion and cook and stir until lightly browned, about 5 minutes. Add garlic and cook and stir until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Add the chicken stock and bring to a boil then simmer until almost evaporated.

Add the butter and stir into the mixture. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Serving Size: Makes 4 generous servings
