Ingredients

1 cup whole oats soaked overnight in 5 cups water
One 2-inch strip kombu, soaked with the oats
    4 Tbsp. toasted sunflower seeds
    4 Tbsp. toasted chopped almonds

Directions

Soak oats and kombu overnight
Bring the oats and kombu to a boil in a 3 quart covered pan. Reduce the flame and simmer, uncovered, for 2 hours. Switch off the heat and leave to stand overnight.
In the morning, heat the porridge carefully, making sure there's water in the pan to prevent it from sticking. Add more water if necessary. Serve with 1 Tbsp tasted sesame seeds and 1 Tbsp. toasted almonds in each bowl. Keeps for 3 days.

I was thinking of making this because I liked the ingredients. I am very surprised that there is that much fat in this recipe. 95% of the fat must come from the nuts, so I think I'll add only 1/2 the amount of nuts to this recipe and see how that tastes - 8/11/12
