Ingredients

    1 (14oz) yellow or white cake mix
    1 cup applesauce or apple butter
    1 cup orange juice
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 tsp. ginger
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    2 eggs

Directions

Preheat oven to 350F. Combine all ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Mix according to package directions for cake mis. Lightly coat a one 9" cake pan or one 9"x13" pan. Bake as directed on box.

NOTE: If making the4 "pumpkin" cake, substitue pumpkin for the applesauce or apple butter in the recipe.

GLAZE: Stir together 1/2 cup powdered sugar with 2 Tbl. of orange juice. Drizzle over warm cake.

    Sounds very good, however, those fixing this will definitely have to compare ingredients. Most of the cake mixes I have are 18.5 oz. pkgs., not 14 ozs. Also is the OJ unsweetened? I don't think the glaze is in the NI listed above. I calculated using my mix and got 141.3 calories. - 11/12/08

    You are correct. I'm sorry. I did omit the Glaze ingredients. I recalculated ALL the ingredients for the Applesauce (unsweetened) cake with the eggs, using the 18.5oz pkg, and the glaze and came up with 143.1 calories. I used regular oj. Thanks for the heads up.
