Introduction
This spicy dish takes the chill off winter days and the recipe can easily be altered to reduce fat and/or sodium even further by substituting ground turkey breast, cooking your own beans (with no salt), and using chicken broth that is reduced fat and/or more than 33% less sodium. Ingredients

16 ounces Lean Ground Turkey (cooks down to 12oz)
1 tablespoon Grapeseed Oil
1 cup White Onion, chopped
1/2 cup Green Onion, chopped
2 cloves Garlic, minced
2 4oz cans Diced Green Chiles
1 tablespoon Ground Cumin
1 tablespoon Dried Oregano
1/4 teaspoon Cayenne or Red Pepper
1 tablespoon Ground White Pepper
1/2 teaspoon Ground Cloves
4 cups Low Sodium (33% less) Chicken Broth
3 15oz cans Organic Great Northern Beans, drained and rinsed
Directions
Cook turkey in frying pan coated with cooking spray until done (no longer pink) and set aside.
In a dutch oven, over medium high heat, saute onions and garlic in oil 5 minutes or until onion is tender.
Add chiles, cumin, oregano, cayenne pepper, white pepper, and cloves. Cook 1 minute.
Stir in chicken broth, beans, and turkey. Bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, 25 minutes or until slightly thickened.
Makes approximately 8 servings. (Serving size = 2 ladles.)
