Introduction

This cosmo has just enough sweetness and tartness to take the edge off the dryness of the gin while still remaining potent and with a clean aftertaste. While the gin flavor does get masked with the flavors of the other ingredients, it adds a definite spicyness to the drink. Ingredients

    1 oz Cointreau
    1 oz Sapphire Gin
    1/4 oz lemon juice (1/2 Tbsp or 2 wedges)
    1/4 oz lime juice (1/2 Tbsp or 2 wedges)
    2 1/2 oz Cranberry Cocktail or juice, chilled (5 Tbsp or 2 scant 1.5 oz jiggers)
    Ice (2-3 cubes)

Directions

Place ice in old-fashioned glass. Pour gin and cointreau over ice. Stir about 10 seconds with the ice. Add lemon and lime juices, then slosh in the cranberry juice (use cranberry cocktail if a sweeter drink is desired). Stir drink once or twice around, and enjoy.
==================

----Note: As most martini glasses are filled to 3 oz, this recipe makes enough for 2 if you wish to serve it up.
---To serve it "up": Use a glass that can hold the entire amount. Add ice (use crushed ice if possible), then add the liquor, and stir for at least 30 seconds (or use a shaker if you're not particular). Add the juices, stir (or shake) for about ten seconds, and strain into glasses.

    Incredible!
    This is a very potent drink, but you'd never know it! It went over amazingly well for a small gathering at my house. I think we went through a dozen for the 5 of us drinking them (ouch!) - 3/29/09
