Introduction

I usually double this recipe because it's so good. Easy and quick too! Serve with beef or tomato gravy. I usually double this recipe because it's so good. Easy and quick too! Serve with beef or tomato gravy.

Ingredients

    1-1/4 pounds lean ground beef
    1/2 cup oatmeal
    1/4 cup minced onion
    1 teaspoon salt
    1/4 teaspoon pepper
    1 medium egg
1/3 cup tomato juice (or ketchup thinned with a little tap water)

Directions

Get out a mixing bowl and put all of the ingredients in it. Use your hands to mix everything up like a meatloaf. Get out a broiling pan, or a pizza pan, or a 9" by 13" rectangular pan. Shape the meat into 5 small thick oval patties on the broiler (or other) pan. They should vaguely resemble thick round steaks. Preheat your broiler and broil the steaks for about 10 minutes on the first side and 5 minutes on the second side. This should cook them all the way through.

Or, if you don't want to use the broiler, then you can just bake them at 400° for about half an hour. Serve with Tomato Gravy.
