Introduction

Turkish people do a lot of wonderful things with vegetables. I highly recommend getting a Turkish cookbook. Very Good and Very Healthy. I learned to love my veggies. Ingredients

    Spinach, fresh, 4 bunch
    Ground beef, lean, 16 oz
    Onions, raw, 1 slice, large (1/4" thick)
    Garlic, 4 cloves
    Oranges, 1 medium
    *Extra Virgin Olive Oil, 4 tbsp
    Honey 1 tbsp
    Salt, 1 tsp

Directions

Saute onions and garlic in olive oil and honey
Add ground beef
Stir while it browns
Add Salt
Add 1/2 cup water
Let simmer a few minutes
Juice the orange
Add the juice to the mixture
Add spinach
1 Cup water
Let mixture simmer 30-40 minutes and serve
Excellent with rice and non-fat, plain yogurt.

    Good
    I replaced the honey with 2 tsp oregano & lemon juice instead of orange, it added a nicer flavour. Otherwise I followed the recipe, but found the amount of oil was too much. Next time I will reduce the oil & maybe add the zest from the lemon. - 2/11/10
