I am so glad I kept looking for a soup using my left over ham. I myself love traditonal ham & bean soup but my husband wasn't so receptive but this recipe made him smile. So we are going to have it tomorrow. I'll be using my crockpot to fix it. I'll also use a low fat cornbread to go with it. Thanx! - 12/27/10

This is really GREAT on a chilling day! I make it with a "lighter" cornbread and it's a meal!
Think I will try using a crockpot next time.

Outstanding! With left over Ham & tons of vegetables in my frig, was hoping to turn something out of them, this recipe came up in the search. Wasn't too excited about it, but WOW...it is really good. I had tomatoes w/ green chilis in the cupboard so used that. I also had a Turnip & Parsnips. Thanks - 12/6/11
