Introduction

I like to serve these with pork chops. I use a mix of Grannie Smith and a sweet, red apple. I like the combination of the sweet and tart. I like to serve these with pork chops. I use a mix of Grannie Smith and a sweet, red apple. I like the combination of the sweet and tart.

Ingredients

6 cups of peeled and sliced apples. (half Grannie Smith and half of a red apple.)
    2 tbsp ground cinnamon
    1 tbsp vanilla
    half of a cup sugar
2 tbsp unsalted butter (salted butter is fine also)

Directions

Slice and peel your apples. Then add to a large frying pan. (I use a cast iron skillet) add the rest of the ingredients. Cook on low to med. heat. Stirring occasionally. Cover with a lid (you don't have to, I don't) Cook until soft. My family loves this with vanilla ice cream. So it can be used as a quick dessert.
