Ingredients
-
1 lb 15% ground beef
3 T fresh bread crumbs
1 c chopped onion
1 t butter
1 egg
1 pinch dried whole thyme, crumbled
1/4 t low sodium salt, like Morton's
Directions
Saute the onion in the butter in a small covered frying pan, for about 10 minutes, or until translucent. Let cool slightly.
Mix this and the other ingredients with your hands, gently but thoroughly.
Shape into16 patties 1" high.
Saute in a non-stick frying pan, greased with some peanut oil. Don't worry about the oil: you will end up with more than you started with.
Saute about 4 min. on each side over medium to medium-high flame. If they seem underdone, turn them yet again for another 2 m.
