Introduction

His specific recipe calls for any kind of bean, but I prefer black so that's what I'm using. You can substitute any you like. His specific recipe calls for any kind of bean, but I prefer black so that's what I'm using. You can substitute any you like.

Ingredients

1 15oz can of beans, any type
    1 tsp chili powder
1/4 tsp garlic (I used 1/2 in my recipe - love garlic)
1 pinch cumin or tumeric (optional)

There was no way to add in a "pinch" of cumin or tumeric to this recipe, which is optional. I don't think it will have an effect on the nutritional info.

Directions

Mash the beans with a fork, masher, or food processor with about half the liquid from the can. Mix in the spices. Serve with raw or lightly steamed vegetables or toasted pita bread (not included in nutritional counter). Nutritional info is for 4 servings.

    Good
This was good but a little on the bland side. I heated the beans with a little of the juice. I added more garlic (as suggested), 1/4 cup of jar salsa, and a tablespoon of finely chopped onion. Ate it with tortilla chips and also as a base for soft chicken tacos. Delicious! - 7/29/09
