Ingredients

    4-cups finely sliced, peeled apples (about 1 1/2 - 1 3/4 pounds fresh
    1/3 cup Splenda Granular
    1/4 cup raisins,
    1/4 cup pecans, finely chopped
    1 1/2 tsps cinnamon
    1 Tbsp plain bread crumbs
    6 sheets phyllo dough (12 x 16 ")
    Nonstick cooking spray
    1/2 Tbsp butter, melted
    1 Tbsp powdered sugar

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray.

In a large bowl, combine apples and next 5 ingredients. Set aside.

Spread a large piece of plastic wrap or wax paper onto a large surface. Carefully lay 1 piece of the phyllo dough onto the work surface, with the long side closest to you. Lightly spray the entire sheet lightly with cooking spray. Lay another sheet of dough on top of the first. Spray again. Repeat until all 6 sheets are stacked. Spoon the apple mixture in a long strip across the center of the dough, leaving 3" on all sides. Starting with the long side of the dough that is closest to you, lift the empty dough up over the apples. Fold side ends and far side of dough up and over the apples to enclose. Carefully use the paper to help you turn the strudel, seam side down, onto the prepared baking sheet.
Brush with melted butter.
Bake 40-45 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown.
Cool slightly and sift powdered sugar over entire strudel. Best when served warm.
