Ingredients

    1/2 cup chopped onion
    1 medium red bell pepper
    1 tsp minced garlic
    1 dried habernero pepper
    1 1/4 tsps dried thyme
    1/4 tsp ground allspice
    1 tsp canola oil
    14 1/2 oz can fat free chicken broth
    2 - 15oz cans red or black beans drained
    3 cups cubed and peeled sweet potatoes
    3 tbsp lime juice

Directions

Saute onion, pepper, garlic, habernero, thyme and allspice with 1 tsp canola oil 4-5 minutes. Add broth, and sweet potatoes; bring to boil. Reduce heat, add beans and simmer uncovered until sweet potatoes are tender 15-25 minutes. Stir in lime juice. Serve over rice.
