Introduction

I did not make up this recipe, It came with my yogurt maker. I have tried it with cow & soy milk. This recipe reflects the soy milk time. Instructions said soy milk had to be UHT.
This recipe is to NOT have to boil the milk, so if you wish to, this is not for you.

Ingredients

    42 ounces milk
6 ounces plain soy yogurt or a Freeze-Dried Yogurt Starter package
10 tablespoons NonFat Dry Instant Milk (optional)

Directions

To not have to boil the milk be sure to add the powdered milk as mentioned below.
To the 42 oz milk, stir in 6 oz plain yogurt until the yogurt is dissolved & you have a smooth mixture. the mixture should be at room temperature.
Add 10 Tablespoons of powdered milk to the room temperature milk before pouring it into the glass jars. This will give a firmer end product. Put the jars in the container WITHOUT THEIR LIDS in which they will incubate.
With whole milk the yogurt will be ready in 7 hours. For skimmed milk it takes about 10 hours.
