Ingredients
-
The recipe is 1, 2, 3, 4
1 tablespoon butter
2 tablespoon flour
3/4 cup milk and then 1 cup cheese
Directions
Melt the butter in a sauce pan, low heat, stir in the flour until it's pasty, remove from heat, add a little of the milk (about 3 tablespoons) and keep stirring, when the flour paste is mixed into the milk add the rest of the milk and put back on heat keep stirring over a low - med heat until it thickens.
Then add cheese, keep stirring until it reaches cheese sauce consistency.
We boil pasta and broccoli together and dish that out. Then we serve a pot of this sauce and a pot of red sauce. Some of the kids eat red, some white and some use 1/2 and 1/2 but they all eat the broccoli! :)
This is important. Patrick tried lots of different cheeses and he has found that 1/2 ricotta (made with skim) and 1/2 Parmesan/Romano shaker cheese works best.
We use the same recipe with cheddar cheese for a nacho snack.
enjoy!
