Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

    2 pounds ground turkey
    1 large onion, chopped
    2 gloves garlic, finely chopped
    1 can (28 oz.) diced tomatoes with green chilies
    1 can (15 oz.) tomato sauce
    1 small can tomato paste
    3 tbsp chili powder
    2 tsp ground cumin
    1 tsp cayenne pepper (Optional)
    ½ tsp salt
    ½ tsp ground pepper
    hot sauce to taste (Optional)

Directions

1. Brown ground turkey over medium heat. Drain.

2. Mix beef and remaining ingredients except beans in slow cooker.

3. Cover and cook on low heat setting 6 to 8 hours (or high heat setting 3 to 4 hours) until onion is tender.

4. Stir in beans. Cover and cook on high heat 15 to 20 minutes or until slightly thickened.

Makes 8 servings.
