Fish Recipes (Most Popular)
I read many recipes before coming up with my own, which I believe is unique to any of the rest. Living on L.Michigan, we catch plenty of salmon and lake trout which I smoke while it's fresh and freeze for the rest of the year. I needed a low calorie recipe that didn't involve cream cheese or crackers. Since I more servings out of it than I expected, it is a successful low calorie dish but has alot of salt according to recipe calculator. I actually rinse the brine off the raw fish before I smoke it but, well, it WAS soaked in brine OK?
The abundance of mushrooms in this recipe cuts down on the calories and reduces the "fishiness" of the final dish. The crabmeat and calamari are high in protein and calcium and the Calamari is surprisingly a good source of vitamin C (in case you are ever lost at sea and dying of scurvy).
See explanation of "Test Tube Mushrooms" in tips.
Flavorful ingredients are combined with tomatoes, shrimp (or chicken/fish and (optional feta cheese) to make a dish that is good for serving a crowd because it is easily multiplied. Chunks of firm fish can be substituted for the shrimp or added to the shrimp for variety. Another option is to use chunks of boneless skinless chicken breasts in lieu of shrimp/fish.
****Nutritional data is based on shrimp but does NOT include feta cheese. Add it to your nutrition tracker separately if you add it to the recipe. The feta is good but not that noticeable if you leave it out. If you want to include it, you can just sprinkle a little on top when serving and add to your nutrition tracker.
Prepare to really indulge with this luxurious - but wholesome - fish pie topped with celeriac mash.
I'm not sure where I got this recipe, but it's really good! Made with whole wheat pasta, it's pretty healthy too!
This is a delicious recipe that can be done on the indoor or outdoor grill. Over gas, or charcoal.
