Breakfast on the Go

This is basically pancake mix in a muffin tin, with a bite of a sausage link cooked inside. We REALLY liked these. ( I saw the commercial for that Pancake Puff pan, and got the idea from that. Why spend $20 when you can throw it into a muffin tin!) Submitted by: WANT2BEFITBY40

Basic Family Crepe Recipe

Basic Family Crepe Recipe

These crepes are a delicious sweet version.

I prefer to top with berries, roll up like a burrito, dust with powdered sugar and serve for breakfasts or a quick snack, but the possibilities are endless. Great recipe to make for kids and allow them to personalize with their own toppings.

The recipe is easy to follow but crepes can be a bit tricky to cook at first; it is not an exact science and it can take some trial and errorSubmitted by: MLABAHN2

Skinny Strawberries Romanoff

Incredible! 5.0/5
(4 ratings)
Skinny Strawberries Romanoff

A simple yet elegant dessert. The combination of sour cream with the sweetness of the brown sugar is absolutely addicting! My mother learned how to make this recipe in a culinary class she took when I was younger and it became a childhood favorite of mine. I just called it strawberry dip not knowing it actually had a name. Other variations include adding a tiny bit of orange zest or the juice of an orange, or a splash of Grand Marnier. I think it's perfect without. Serve this in a champagne or martini glass with a mint leaf for an elegant presentation.

Seitan Sausage

Seitan Sausage

I quit eating "things with feet" to get my MD off my back about cholesterol and blood pressure...and, because I married a pretty little thing 12 years younger than me. I mean, do the math: I'm older, so, statistically speaking, I should take a croak, before her. Well, I don't WANNA. But, foods like sausage are the paving stones of the road to hell, from a dietary standpoint. And, one of my favorite foods. So, here's a VERY viable substitute. You're going to need cheesecloth and stout string; dental floss will do.
Try this, and play with the spicing to make your own mouth happy. Trust me, it's darn near indistinguishable from traditional sausage. Except that it won't clog your heart.Submitted by: TA24JC

Oatmeal ''Cookie'' Pancakes

Oatmeal ''Cookie'' Pancakes

I started making these for my children when they were very young (and wanted to know what exactly I was putting in their mouths). Now they are a family favorite and a working mom's delight.

They have more calories than frozen waffles, but they are packed with good nutrition and keep you full until noon. These are great when made ahead of time. They are very dense pancakes and because they are so dense you can pop them into the toaster to warm up like an eggo. Simply wait until they cool and freeze them or seal them in a container for the fridge. They last about a week in the fridge.

I use oat milk because I am a vegetarian and want more protein than soy or rice milk can provide. However, I have used all the milks (including dairy) and they work fine. The calorie calculation is done with oat milk and brown sugar included in the recipe. Values will change depending on the milk you use and if you add the brown sugar or not.

Serving Ideas: Serve with fresh fruit or sugar free maple syrup.Submitted by: PAISANS
