Why would anyone use canned asparagus when it's in season now. Canned is so full of salt...Fresh is not. Use FRESH whenever you can. Precook the fresh and follow as directed. (I microwave mine in a coverd dish with a quarter cup of water for 4 minutes..till tender crisp) Very Good...
My husband and I really liked this! It felt a little extravagant with the cheese, but in reality it was low calorie and yummy. I will make it with fresh asparagus in future, as my husband and I don't like the texture of canned. I will definitely make it again.
