I have made these for years - my husband is diabetic so I substitute the sugar for Splenda - we can't tell the difference and that makes them practically guilt free
This is the exact recipe I use, except with only 1/2 cup sugar (so only 9 cals per cookie / 18 per two, according to the recipe calculator). Great ideas about colour and flavours, thanks all! Time to experiment with my fourth batch this season :-)
I made these last year for Christmas. You can make the mounds and sprinkle things like nuts, sprinkles, colored sugar, candy canes, and the like. You can even swirl in some food coloring and it is really pretty. :D My favorite were the ones that had crushed walnut. yummy!
