Nutrition & Calorie Comments  

Oh... my... god. This was amazing. Very similar to the honey chicken my hubby loves. I simmered the liquid for 10 min, added the chicken raw (dark meat), and then boiled the heck out of it until the sauce turned thick and the chicken browned a bit. I also used low sodium soy. This is a keeper!
I love this recipe for bourbon chicken. I use 1/2 of the soy sauce called for, to reduce the sodium level. If you must, serve soy sauce on the side.
It was delicious, but incredibly salty. I will make this again with low-sodium soy sauce to see if it makes a difference. Discounting the saltiness, the flavor was quite delicious. (I did cheat and substitute bourbon for the apple juice. It is bourbon chicken, after all!)
Lots of sodium, but it sounds pretty good other than that.
