Ingredients

450 g leaned minced beef
1 large onion chopped
2 tbs olive oil
2 cloves of garlic chopped
2 tsp worcestershire sauce
1/2 tbs chopped parsley (fresh or dried)
1/2 tbs chopped basil (fresh or dried)
1 level tbs plain flour
dash of salt and pepper
1 tbs tomato puree ( paste)
10 fl oz (275ml) hot water
1 1/2 ( 20ml) beef concentrated liquid stock
800 g King Edward or Maris piper potatoes
1 tbs creme fraiche
20 g cheddar cheese grated
dash of salt
Directions
Pre heat oven 200C, Gas Mark 6, 400F
Grease large deep dish approx 8" diametre
Boil the potatoes for 20 mins unitl soft
Fry the chopped onion and garlic in tthe olive oil until soft and pale, add the beef mince and cook until brown - approx 15mins
Season with salt, pepper, herbs and worcestershire sauce.
Stir in the flour. Add puree and beef stock to hot water and add to the meat bringing it back to simmering point.
Put into the greased dish
Mash the potatoes until smooth and add the creme fraiche and a dash of salt. Cover the meat with the mash and then sprinkle on the cheddar cheese.
Bake for 25 mins until crusty and golden. Serve with your choice of vegetables.
